Find Box Elder County Released Inmates

Box Elder County released inmates can leave local custody through bond, a court order, completion of a jail term, or transfer into another agency's control. A Box Elder County released inmate search must therefore match the person to the right custodian and record. County booking and release records cover the local jail. State corrections and parole records cover people under Utah supervision, while court files explain the order behind a custody change. To search for Box Elder County released inmates with care, confirm identity, distinguish release from transfer, and compare the physical release record with the legal case history.

Box Elder County Release Meaning

A release record should settle three points: which custody ended, when it ended, and what followed. At the Box Elder County Correctional Facility, a person may return to the community after bond, nonfinancial pretrial release, dismissal, time served, sentence completion, or another court order. A state prisoner may leave prison on parole yet remain under Utah Department of Corrections supervision. Probation is a court-ordered community status and does not always follow prison.

Transfer is different. Someone moved from the county jail to UDC, another county, federal custody, or immigration custody has left the Brigham City building without gaining community freedom. The county release disposition and any receiving-agency entry clarify that difference. A discharge is different again: it can mean a sentence or supervision has legally ended. These terms should be read as the record custodian uses them.

Time served
The court-credited or completed custody term, which may not end every duty in the case.
Parole
Conditional release from prison while the sentence and UDC supervision continue.
Probation
Community supervision ordered by a court, sometimes without a prison term.
Discharge
The legal end of a sentence or supervision, not merely an exit from a building.
Detainer
A hold or request that may send a person to another agency instead of the community.

Box Elder County Release Types

The same jail door can mark distinct legal events. The booking record shows the physical custody change. A court order may show why it was authorized. For a UDC-controlled prisoner held under contract at the county facility, the Board and UDC records control the state release path.

EventWhat it meansBest next record
Bond or pretrial orderCounty custody ends while the case remains openJail release entry and court conditions
Dismissal or court releaseA judge or case event authorizes releaseCourt order plus jail exit time
Time served or sentence completeThe local custody term is credited or finishedJudgment, calculation, and release entry
ParoleState imprisonment ends under supervisionBoard decision and UDC legal status
TransferCustody continues under another authorityReceiving agency or transfer destination

A bond amount only describes a possible condition. It does not prove payment or final processing. Likewise, a dismissal in one case does not rule out a hold in another. Match each legal event to the physical release entry.

Note: The custodian's recorded disposition controls whether a Box Elder departure was a community release or a transfer.

Box Elder County Release Fields

Box Elder County does not display a public release record online. A focused request should identify the existing booking sheet, jail-register entry, or release-log entry and ask for the fields needed to tell release from transfer. Not every field is guaranteed public, but specific terms help Records locate and segregate the responsive material.

FieldWhat it shows
Booked name and aliasesThe identity used at intake and useful same-name checks
Booking numberThe local identifier tying intake and release records together
Booking date and timeWhen the county custody episode began
Charges and case numberThe court matter connected to the booking
Bond amount and typeThe financial release condition, not proof of release
Release date and timeThe recorded end of physical county custody
Release disposition or authorityThe stated reason or legal source for the custody change
Receiving agencyWhether another custodian took control after departure

Court files add the charging document, hearings, judgment, sentence, warrants, and later orders. They may explain the authority for release, though they need not show the exact door-out time. A jail release entry paired with the relevant court order is the strongest local combination.

Request Box Elder Release Records

Submit a written request through the Box Elder County JustFOIA portal or contact Sheriff Records/GRAMA at 435-734-3822. Utah Code §63G-2-204 calls for contact details and a reasonably specific description. The ordinary response period is no later than ten business days, subject to the law's exceptions and extraordinary-circumstance process.

  1. Give the full booked name, known aliases, approximate age or birth date if lawfully known, and a narrow date range.
  2. Name the facility and existing records sought, such as the booking sheet, jail-register entry, release-log entry, and related booking photograph.
  3. Ask for booking and release times, disposition, charge and case identifiers, and the receiving agency if recorded and public.
  4. Request electronic copies, segregation of restricted fields, and a cost estimate before a stated limit.
  5. If access is denied or no record is found, ask for the written classification basis, appeal route, and applicable retention schedule.

The 2026 Sheriff fee schedule lists a printed report at $10 plus copies, black-and-white letter copies at $0.50 per page, color copies at $1 per page, certified documents at $6 plus copies, electronic delivery at $5 per access, and media at $10. A new sealed qualifying drive can avoid the listed media fee. Ask for an estimate because the final charge depends on the actual format and work.

Question: Does no record prove release? No. It may reflect the date range, spelling, custodian, classification, retention, or a transfer to another system.

Box Elder Release Record Law

Utah's Government Records Access and Management Act, or GRAMA, is in Title 63G, Chapter 2. Section 63G-2-201 provides a right to inspect public records while preserving private, controlled, protected, and other restricted classes. Section 203 governs reasonable fees, including staff-time limits and possible waiver grounds. Section 204 governs the form and handling of a specific request.

Release details may be public while medical, security, victim, juvenile, address, or other data is withheld. Ask for redaction and release of the remaining public parts. Sealed and expunged cases also require care. Utah expungement seals government records from public view but does not mean every independent record was destroyed. The lack of a court result must never be described as proof of expungement.

Important: Website visibility and government retention are not the same. Box Elder posts no roster, so ask Records which schedule governs the requested jail record.

Confirm Box Elder Bond Release

The fastest local bail and current-status channel is Booking. The Sheriff's Corrections page directs callers to 435-734-3800 and the prompts, with Booking available around the clock for questions about current inmates, bail amounts, and charges. The county directory also lists the direct Booking number, 435-734-3839.

Ask whether the named person is currently housed at the facility. If not, ask whether staff can give the public release date and disposition or only current status. A quoted bond amount is not proof that bond was posted, accepted, and processed. Confirm the release entry, then inspect the court docket for bond activity and conditions.

The official county page shown below documents why a Box Elder County released inmate search begins by phone instead of on a roster.

The capture supports the county-specific call-first workflow; it does not serve as a release list or historic record.

Box Elder Release Court Records

Local release authority may sit in more than one court. Utah's First District Court handles felonies and class A misdemeanors. Box Elder County Justice Court handles county-filed class B and class C misdemeanors and infractions, while a municipal court may control based on where the case was filed. Use the court shown on the charging record.

Utah Courts Xchange provides statewide district and justice court case access. A docket can show a pretrial order, bond terms, dismissal, judgment, sentence, credit for time served, warrant, or later change. Xchange is not a jail exit log, so pair its legal history with the Sheriff's custody record.

The Xchange source image below shows the court route that can preserve case history after county custody ends.

That court record can explain the order behind release, while Box Elder Booking or Records confirms the physical custody event.

Note: A court order can precede jail processing, so its filing time is not a substitute for the recorded exit time.

Which Box Elder Release System?

The Box Elder County Correctional Facility is both a county jail and a UDC contract-custody site. UDC's fiscal-year 2024 jail-program material listed 40 contracted beds, with 14 then available to Corrections, for male custody. Those are dated program figures, not a current headcount or release total.

Legal custody controls the search. An ordinary county pretrial detainee is tracked through Booking, Sheriff GRAMA records, and the local court. A UDC prisoner housed in the same building remains a state case, so the UDC offender search and Board order control. A facility-name match alone cannot identify the right release authority.

Note: County departure may be a transfer, while a UDC-controlled prison release follows the state process even when the person was housed locally.

Box Elder Release Fees

The county's 2025 budget uses labels such as Pay for Stay, State Prisoner, and Work Release. These are agency revenue categories. They do not prove that a named released person owes a balance, was assigned to work release, or faced a fee at the door.

For an individual answer, request the actual account, order, or existing record tied to that person. Ask which agency created it and what law or order supports the charge. Do not infer a personal obligation from a countywide budget line. A records estimate is also separate from any custody-related account.

Find Box Elder Released Inmates

No single portal covers every kind of Box Elder County release. Start with a clean identity set, including the full legal name, aliases, approximate booking date, arresting agency, and case number when known. Then follow the agency trail rather than treating a missing search result as proof.

  1. Call Box Elder Booking through 435-734-3800 and the prompts to ask whether the person is currently housed there.
  2. If the person is gone, request the existing county booking and release record from Sheriff Records/GRAMA.
  3. Read the correct Utah court case for the order, bond action, dismissal, sentence, warrant, or later disposition.
  4. Use UDC only when the facts show a state sentence, parole, probation, or transfer into state jurisdiction.
  5. Check VINE for a matching person and agency, but confirm any alert with the agency that owns the record.
  6. For federal or immigration custody, use the federal locator that matches the actual custodian.
Important: “Not currently housed” does not distinguish release, transfer, court transport, hospitalization, extradition, or an identity mismatch. Obtain the disposition.

Box Elder Recent Release Records

The Sheriff publishes no current roster, 24-hour release feed, or 72-hour release feed. There is no official online window, photo field, update schedule, archive, or retention period to report. No official Sheriff jail app advertising release records was verified.

For a named person, use Booking and a date-bounded GRAMA request. For a list, ask for the existing release log or booking-release records between exact start and end timestamps. State whether the interval means a rolling period or calendar dates, and request public booking number, name, booking time, release time, disposition, charge or case identifiers, and photo if lawfully available.

The Box Elder County 24-Hour Release List sets out the exact same-day records-request fallback. It does not claim that an online county feed exists.

Box Elder Release Supervision

Parole and probation are community statuses with different sources. The Utah Board of Pardons and Parole decides state parole action. UDC Adult Probation and Parole administers qualifying court and Board supervision. For a parole claim, compare UDC Legal Status with the Board's written decision. A hearing date alone is not a release date.

For a county jail release, the sentencing court record shows whether supervised probation was ordered. Box Elder County has a UDC Region 2 AP&P office in Brigham City, but that office is not a general county release-log desk. Staff may direct a person to the proper public process without disclosing protected case-management details.

Box Elder Release Reentry Limits

UDC's fiscal-year 2024 jail-program book documented 14 inmate work assignments and education or behavioral programs at the Box Elder facility. Those programs were in custody. Their presence does not show that every person receives a specific service, placement, or benefit after release.

The local post-release navigation point for a person under state supervision is the Region 2 Brigham City AP&P office. Someone not under UDC supervision should rely on the release plan, court order, and agency contacts that apply to the actual case. Keep a dated program description separate from a promised post-release service.

Note: A dated in-custody program count is not proof that the same aid remains available after a person's release.

Utah State Release Day

This state procedure applies to UDC prisoners, not ordinary Box Elder detainees leaving on bond or a local court order. UDC processes releases and paroles on Tuesdays and generally routes county-jail-housed state clients through the Utah State Correctional Facility release operation. Direct state-prison release from a county jail is described as extremely rare.

UDC gives family arrival times of 9 a.m. for clients from the two state prison sites and 10 a.m. for county-jail-housed UDC clients. Processing may take one to four hours. UDC also describes community correctional center transport and a case-by-case ride to nearby TRAX for clients without pickup. Verify the date through UDC search or the Board before travel.

Note: Tuesday state processing does not establish the day or hour of a standard Box Elder County jail release.

Box Elder Release Notification Search

VINELink is the public entry point for Utah VINE. Select Utah, search by name or offender number, compare identifiers, and open the matching record. UDC states that its telephone service can report custody and whether a release date exists. Registration can provide notice of release and other events, but transfer alerts must not be relabeled as community release.

Box Elder jail participation for a specific booking should be checked in the live system rather than assumed. A no-result does not confirm release. The Utah Board has also warned that technical problems can cause missing or inaccurate notices, so confirm county events with Sheriff Records and state events with UDC or the Board.

The Utah Sex and Kidnap Offender Registry is a separate post-release trail for people with an active qualifying registration duty. It is not a general list of Box Elder County released inmates, and it does not establish a jail release date. Confirm the disposition through the court and the custody event through the record custodian.

For federal prison custody, the BOP Inmate Locator may show “Released” and a date for federal records after 1982. That means the person is no longer in BOP custody, not necessarily free of all supervision or other custody. The ICE Online Detainee Locator focuses on current immigration detention, and a missing result cannot establish community release. A U.S. Marshals move from a local jail is also a transfer, not proof of release.

Compare Box Elder Release Sources

Choose the source by legal custodian and by the fact sought. Current status, physical release, legal authority, supervision, and federal departure are separate questions.

Question: Why is a released person absent from UDC search? The portal covers current UDC supervision. A no-result can mean full discharge, no state jurisdiction, a name mismatch, or a data change, so seek the historic record.

Note: Always compare the person's identifiers before treating a same-name county, state, or federal result as a match.

Box Elder Release Facility

The Box Elder County Correctional Facility is the one county detention facility established by the official sources reviewed. Sheriff Kevin Potter's office operates it at 52 South 1000 West in Brigham City. The jail has 168 beds, including 26 reserved for women, but capacity is not a current population or annual release count.

A local detainee may leave for the community after bond, a court order, dismissal, or completion of a lawful jail term. The person may instead transfer to UDC, another county, federal custody, or another agency. Call Booking for current status, then use Records/GRAMA and the correct court or receiving agency to document what happened next.
